Queenstown was not only the start of our honeymoon, but our first real break from stress & chaos in months. After leaving the parents & driving two days from our wedding location in Hawke’s Bay, we welcomed comfortably relaxing & regrouping in a singular location. Every day, the skies & scenery dramatically shifted, flaunting New Zealand’s bests for us.

The Otahuna Lodge was originally built as a private residence in 1895, but with careful restoration over the decades, this country estate now operates as an accommodation to a myriad of guests from all over the world. What really struck us about this homestead is its stunning 110 year old garden, from where they raise livestock & source all of their produce. From a melon shed to vegetable garden to fruit orchards, Otahuna’s impressive kitchen staff has everything they need right at their finger tips to whip up fresh, tasty meals with bold, whimsical flavor combinations.

Tomorrow, Zack & I are traveling to New Zealand to get married & will be gone for 5 weeks on our honeymoon. It’s been a year since we’ve been engaged, & what a crazy year it’s been. Between work, wedding planning, & life, our heads have been spinning, but we have our wonderful friends to thank for all of the love & support they’ve generously shown us. More importantly, we have each other & always will. I never knew a home until I met Zack, & now, he’s the only home I ever want or need. I am honored, filled with butterflies, & bursting with love to be walking down the aisle to this man in just a few days. (Hubba, hubba)
